Growing lobelia from seeds is simple, but the seeds need light to germinate. Start by filling a seed tray with a moist, fine-textured seed-starting mix. Sprinkle the tiny seeds over the surface without covering them with soil. Keep the tray in a bright location with indirect light and maintain temperatures around 65–75°F (18–24°C). Germination usually takes about 10–21 days. Once seedlings develop several true leaves and outdoor conditions are suitable, gradually acclimate them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them into garden beds or containers.
